Once they shunned us now they want to be one of us

The biker community already is experiencing this, it was said, first they despised us , now they all want to be one of us.

That said us in towing were once thought of as a necessary evil, now they see us as glamorous or something.

Years ago, when I suggested to a few producers from Hollywierd that there ought to be a TV show about us in towing the response was , it would not appeal to anyone and it would be boring. I thought something like Emergency with two tow guys responding to various tow calls would be keen. Yet Hollywierd never did reply.

Today fake shows like Lizard Lick Towing, and South Beach Tow are the hit of late night TV feeding some degree of drama between repo towing and some squirrely people. I have always said why not do something based on the real industry. Before SpeedTV went sour by being bought by FoX, there was a show called Wrecked. O'Hare~ Towing is real and you saw real recoveries and some real towing runs. Real road rescues etc, but this new crop of junk that TrueTv is not doing our industry any favors.

One of the reasons I got back into radio once I started towing is the simple fact that while I had heard all kinds of overnight trucker radio shows, there was little if anything to do with us trying to make a buck driving a tow truck. So I fired up the stick and started doing what many of you came to know as Highway Hooker Radio. The show went syndicated, but other situations made doing radio and still tow impossible, mainly trying to find second seats for being on air while I went out and snagged tows. Only two stepped in, but they had other family commitments and eventually faded out.

So we fyred HazzardAyre up. In that 80% of my content is directed to us going towing. But as the song says, Video killed the radio show. Today its video along with audio. So I was thinking what if we did HazzardAyreTV? Including that in that will be Interstate Hooker TV, a show of us going towing, real tows, real issues of the industry as told from inside the cab from the point of view of the looking through a windshield. Lets show through many clips what happens when motorists buzz a tow operator, and death or serious injury becomes the result. That’d drive the idea of the move it over program and project. What about the advancements in training , education and such our industry has gained over the last 20 years. Lets show our industry is more than a bunch of over weight people with little brains doing repos. You know that’s crap, I know it’s crap, but some insurance companies don’t know that. They group us all in one bundle and think what they see on South Beach Tow or Lizard Lick is the way we all are. So how to get the gig moving?

We produce it and run it on what we have for HazzardAyre Radio. Or set up something even fancier, but do it online, then pester the networks . A show with say Interstate Hooker as a title, will get peoples attention.

Look it took a TV show to make bikers popular, it took TV to make stupid repo agents popular, now lets us TV to make us in the real world of towing not only look popular, but important.
