I hate misleading and stupid tv ads

big blog coverROADHOUSE AFTER DARK

I saw this ad on TV-2 KUTV, about this company that insures cars. Company called AMICO, so for giggles I went to their site. Filled the swindle sheet out, and got a quote. Damn near $2,000.00 . Are they fracking kidding? $2,000.00 to insure a $500.00 truck. Nope. The ad says they’re so helpful and all of that, when infact it’s a real rip off, I’m sticking with GEICO.

Then you see these ads for State Farm Insurance, where that hot gal snags up a purse with the money they saved from buying insurance at State Farm. Really? Then there’s that fugdugle old fart in the fishing waders, what a stupid ad.

The trade papers and online things I see always say that TV ad volume against inventory is picking up, wrong. Not with stupid ads. That’s one of the reasons we haven’t done an ad yet. I’d rather sit and wait, until such time that we can get an ad done right, albeit at a budget, still I wont tarnish the reputation or image of Cooter’s A1 Toewing, or Hazzard County Choppers by running a dorky ad, more over, filled with claims that can’t or wont be backed up. Shuck & Jive is fine if your weezling out of a citation from Roscoe or Enos, but not when its your company. All it takes is one really bad ad and you can kiss your reputation and image adios for at least a year, longer in smaller towns. Of course comes the club. The club will not run ads for any of its enterprises unless the ad is as near perfect and intelligent as it can be.

I had plans for being on air this evening and overnight, but mind is tired along with the rest of me, as I close, been noticing signal skips on Comcast. More over the 100mps down and 30 to 50 mps up that I’m paying for, is more like 75 to 80mps down and just over 20mps up. I’ll be calling our sweet Laura Thursday, but maybe an adjustment here might be in order.

Still haven’t heard from Comcast in a exchange of services, ads for a slight modification on our internet connection. You’d think, that a flat rate of $100.00 for us running ads for Comcast, cable/internet/phone etc, would be worth a barter deal, of a reduction of same $100.00 or so on our connection. Especially when we reach more people over a much wider geographic span than any local TV or Radio station, yet they hedge? Oh well.

Any mile see ya’ll at Karen’s(ClubMajor) for breakfast.

Knytes meeting on Friday at 17:00 here at the RoadHouse.
